5th Mini-symposium on the blood-brain barrier
From basic to clinical research

March 3-4, 2023, Fukuoka, Japan

Welcome message

The organizing committee warmly invites you to the "5th Mini-symposium on the blood-brain barrier from basic to clinical research" which will be held on March 3-4th, 2023 in Fukuoka, Japan. First of all, we would like to express our deep appreciation to the previous organizers, Prof. Takayuki Matsuo, Emeritus Prof. Masami Niwa, Dr. Maria A Deli, Emeritus Prof. Yasufumi Kataoka, and Prof. Kentaro Hayashi making much effort to continue this "blood-brain barrier (BBB) mini-symposium".
In the "5th BBB mini-symposium in Fukuoka", we will be very pleased to see you again and discuss a beautiful machinery, BBB, in the brain neurovascular unit. Our research group at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Fukuoka University and Department of Neurosurgery, Nagasaki University is focusing on the BBB pathophysiology to clarify the adverse central nervous system reactions of drugs and its mechanisms. This could help us to make a better prescription design to ameliorate and/or avoid these adverse drug reactions. The symposium program covers all areas of the BBB including heterogeneity of the activated astrocytes depending on the pathological conditions. We hope to meet you all again in Fukuoka for this anniversary BBB event!

Sincerely yours,

Yoichi Morofuji, MD., Ph.D.
Shinya Dohgu, Ph.D.
Shinsuke Nakagawa, Ph.D.
Fuyuko Takata, Ph.D.
Kazuaki Okamura, MD
All other members of the organizing committee
